It sometimes takes a few tries to get Recovery Mode.Once you get into Recovery Mode then your phone will be recognized. Then, press and hold the Side button until you see the recovery mode screen. Press and quickly release the Volume Down button. Press and quickly release the Volume Up button. Then release the buttons when you see Slide. On a Mac with macOS Mojave 10.14 or earlier, or on a PC, open iTunes. Step 3: Once it is turned off, press the Top/Side button to see the Apple logo. On a Mac with macOS Catalina 10.15, open Finder. iPhone 8 or later: Press and quickly release the Volume Up button. Press and hold the Top button until the device restarts. Hold it down again until the Apple logo reappears. If you see the Restore screen, restart your device: iPad models with Face ID: Press and quickly release the Volume Up button.
